Syncing photos with Picasa is easiest of all

While I have these photos on Facebook and Flickr, the easiest group for me to manage are the ones on Picasa. Just a click here or there and the changes I make on my computer are automagically reflected in the online gallery. I love that convenience.

Photo: Macaw at Greer Family Fest

macaw 6763

I think this is a Blue and Gold Macaw. I saw it perched on a freckled girl's shoulder at the Greer Family Fest. The bird's owner said that she (the bird) was seven years old. I thought it made for a nice shot so I squeezed off a few frames.

More photos of the Macaw and the girl at Flickr.

A quick and nerdy slide show of Gadgetfest

Wanna see what you saw (or missed) at Gadgetfest 2007? I've put the pictures up on Flickr, and created a quick and nerdy slide show via Slide to show them off:

Prefer something a bit less glitzy? The Gadgetfest photos are online at Flickr.

A house just passed my car on the street...

As I was driving home this morning, I got stopped at a light and then had to wait for a house to go by...

I uploaded the pictures to Picasa which let me easily geotag the photos. You can see the pictures, look at them on a map, or even zoom in using Google Earth (via this kml) to get a satellite photo of the exact intersection I was sitting at when I shot the photos.

Parade Photos -- 2007 Scottish Games Parade in Greenville, SC

I shot some, several, a lot of pictures of Scottish Games Parade that piped it's way through downtown Greenville tonight. It's hard for me to shoot a lot of pictures in a small amount of time because the pocket camera I use takes a lot of time to recharge its flash or to move the pictures from it's internal memory to the card memory. Still, I shot a couple of hundred frames tonight in hopes of getting a few good ones. Here are a few:

The slideshow above is a Picasa slide show. This is the first time I have ever used it. I have a preference for the community tools built into Flickr, and first uploaded my pictures there. After 15 minutes or so, the upload had finished, but processing still had not. In fact, quite a few minutes later, Flickr still hasn't processed the pictures into my photostream. I got frustrated waiting, so I decided to give the PicasaWeb Photo Album a try. I like it. It worked when I wanted it to. I am sure there is something to be learned from that.

ps: The Flickr version finally got posted. Compare it here.

Artisphere 200704 sidewalk photo 9
I got some nice shots of some very cool sidewalk art at this year's Artisphere. The weather was really cooperative. It didn't wash this sidewalk art away in the middle of the festival for example.

Photos: Kathryn comes to work...

Kathryn stopped by the office today and immediately asked to sit in my chair. I had already logged off my computer, but that didn't keep her from wanting to log in and to use my phone to make some important calls as well. She is not yet 20 months old. Phew!

Baby gets an endorserment deal -- sort of....

Kathryn Ball 6293
Over the summer, my brother in law left a beach ball at the house that he had picked up from a Lab Corp trade show booth. The baby and I have had a big time playing with the ball on our back deck and I have snapped a few shots of her learning to walk and manipulate the ball. I posted a few to Flickr, including the one appearing on the right.

Last week, a fellow blogger dropped me a line and let me know that she had used the picture in a post discussing the failings of Lab Corp's customer service.

We'll be adding this to baby's list of modeling credentials.
